Privacy policy

This policy explains what information Myelin Prep ("Myelin Prep", "we", "us") collects when you use the Myelin Prep app and the website myelinprep.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Myelin Prep, you agree to this policy.
Information we collect
Account details. Your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google. If you sign in with an email and password, your password is handled by our sign-in provider and we never see it.
Your study activity. The questions you answer and the options you choose, your results and progress, time spent, bookmarks, and your settings such as goals and theme.
App usage (optional). Basic information about how the app is used, such as opening the app or finishing a test, along with general device and app details. This is not linked to your name or email. You can turn it off any time in the app's Settings.
Crash reports. If the app crashes, technical details such as the device model, operating system and app version are sent so we can fix the problem.
Technical information. Like any online service, our servers receive your IP address and similar technical details when the app loads questions.
We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, microphone or payment information.
How we use your information
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To check your answers, save your progress and let you continue on another device.
- To show your performance, the questions you got wrong and your bookmarks.
- To keep Myelin Prep secure, prevent misuse and fix problems.
- To understand how the app is used, so we can improve it.
- To reply when you contact us.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show advertisements.
Who we share it with
We use trusted service providers to run Myelin Prep. They process information only to provide their service to us:
- Google (Firebase and Google Cloud), for sign-in, storing your account and study data, app usage information and crash reports.
- Cloudflare, for delivering questions and images to the app.
Your study data is stored on servers in India. Some providers, including our sign-in provider, may process information outside India as part of their service. We share information with authorities only when the law requires it.
Information on your phone
To work on a slow connection, the app saves questions, images and unfinished tests on your phone. Uninstalling the app removes them.
How long we keep it
We keep your account and study data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, we delete this data, usually within a minute and always within an hour. App usage information and crash reports are kept only as long as needed to improve the app.
Your choices and rights
- Turn off app usage sharing in the app's Settings.
- Clear your progress in Settings, while keeping your account.
- Delete your account in the app (Settings, then Delete account), or email us and we will delete it for you.
- Ask for a copy of your data, or ask us to correct or erase it, by emailingsupport@myelinprep.com.
Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, you also have the right to have your complaints addressed and to nominate someone to act for you.
Security
Your information is encrypted when it travels between the app and our servers and when it is stored. In the app, your study data is visible only to you. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach affects your information, we will tell you and the authorities as the law requires.
Children
Myelin Prep is meant for medical graduates and is not for anyone under 18. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app about important changes.
